Where to begin? Veronica Fewkes, our popular, accomplished conductor, calmly and with great assurance kept everybody together to produce some exceptional music. The brass octet and timpani not only enhanced Rutter’s Gloria but gave the traditional carols a splendid impetus. There’s nothing like a trumpet fanfare to improve Hark The Herald Angels Sing. John Eady, our regular accompanist, moved seamlessly between organ and piano and even had the energy to sing with the Chamber Choir. Their ethereal voices were sublime. Veronica thanks all the choir for their commitment and hard work, which made our Christmas Concert so memorable. SCS would also like to thank everyone at St Leonard's who were equally dedicated in making this sell-out concert such a success. Thanks also to all who gave so generously to our chosen charity for this event, Headway Sussex, who support people with brain-related injury or illness. We raised a magnificent £525. Ian, one of our members who has been greatly helped by the charity, says "Thank you". We look forward with eager anticipation to the Spring! |
